WHERE WE CAME FROM . . . .
AMIGOS BAILADORES Dance Associates became a registered company in January of 1998, having been established a few years earlier by a small group of Latin dance enthusiasts, in response to overwhelming requests for quality Latin Dance tutoring.
With the benefit of a prior 5 years exploration of the various social and Latin dances including Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Latin 3-Step, etc., our school now amasses over 15 years dance experience and expertise that caters to a wide cross section of Latin dance interests, providing tuition and special workshops in these and other popular Latin and Ballroom Dance favorites including Salsa, Mambo, Rumba, Latin 3-Step, Cha Cha Cha, Argentine Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quick-Step, Zouk, Bachata, Swing / Jive, Casino SALSA (Salsa Rueda), Pachanga and dance fitness programmes, including the ever popular Zumba.
GROWTH & ACCOMPLISHMENTS . . . .
With a team of 6 Dance Tutors and 6 Coaches, our group and classes have since grown to over 4,000+ students and performers, who are called upon to perform at various exhibitions and shows, bringing a fun-flavored Latin element to these events.
Our compliment of students include both young and young-at-heart coming from varied background in dance and experiences and, we are proud to say, their achievements bring to them the enthusiasm and enjoyment that we work so diligently to provide. We are the proud host of the annual “Rising-Star” & “National Latin Dance-Off Championship” Competitions, all aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and standard of dance for our talented nationals.
In addition, we have been pioneering the development and recognition of our regions’ dance talent throughout the world with our numerous promotional events and dance activities, having developed favorable collaborative and working relationships with Dance Artists and Schools throughout the Local, Regional and International Dance Arena.
WHERE WE ARE GOING . . . .
It is our aim to continue to increase the exposure and uplift the standard of this form of social and competitive dance, in our continuing bid to promote “Dancing” as a healthy and constructive alternative to social and personal entertainment. For the coming year, we will continue to pursue development and strive to further elevate the standard of dance for our students and members and for all to enjoy.
Following very successful activities in previous years, we have set out to repeat and even add to our planned activities for for the next decade with the long awaited introduction of the Caribbean-Wide Ballroom and Latin Dance Championships.
With the blessings and encouragement of our successes, we continue to promote to all, especially our energetic youths, this enjoyable and disciplined social activity. Be sure to check out our Calendar of Events for more information.
